Welcome To TREC-USA

Official Site of the Sport of TREC in the United States

TREC is an international equestrian sport that tests the skills, confidence, and abilities of horse and rider or driving team over various terrain and obstacles. The 3 phases of a TREC competition include Trail Orienteering, Control of Paces, and a Cross-Country Obstacle Course. 
TREC, or Le TREC was originally started in France to test the skills of trekking guides working in the equestrian tourism industry.Today the sport of TREC is popular throughout Europe, and is gaining participants in Argentina, the United States and Canada. This year TREC-USA will be sending a team of 6 riders to compete in the 2012 TREC World Championships in Mafra, Portugal.

EMERGENCY FIRST AID FOR HORSES

This seminar series is being presented by USNETO and The Carolina Equine Clinic to raise funds for Team TREC-USA.

These seminars will focus on emergency preparedness for those who ride trails. Usefull for any style or type of riding. First seminar topics include how to take a horse's vital signs, what's normal/what's not, what to do if an emergency occurs while on the trail, how to assess the situation and what you can do until you can get to a vet. Demonstrations of emergency items will be on site. Contour maps of The Moss Foundation and State Gamelands will be provided by USNETO.  Meet riders from both the US and CANADIAN TREC Teams.   COST-for ALL THREE SEMINARS-$30  Individual seminars $15.
